Where Roland goes next may be interesting to see and if we are spared from seeing more of the immensely unlikable young Roland King, then that may help the audience get on-board with the more mature, remorseful version of the character.Far from a dedicated retiree coming back for “one last job for queen and country,” Roland King has realized that the system he has upheld hasn’t just betrayed him, it has betrayed everyone. Like I said, when Millar decides to focus less on shock and awe, and more on telling a solid story, he tends to put out some really fantastic books. Perhaps Roland King’s self-loathing in this story is Millar’s own cry for help over where his writing career has taken him. Throw in some 'Unforgiven' and 'Old Man Logan' and you have a potent mix of violence, intrigue, and retribution.
