I've read almost all of his published works at this point and have seen many of his social media posts. NOTE: other restrictions can be a result of our security platform detecting potential malicious activity. So let me get this right: Arlo hates Faenirs gut for the most portion of this book, gets his sad backstory told and instantly - just a few pages later - they fuck and Arlo is smitten. To uphold the promise he made to his parents, ensuring the protection of his sister from the world and its dangers. Unable to resist the human, Faenir kidnaps him to Evelina, but his family does not take this in stride.

I believe I would have enjoyed King more if I hadn't read Lord because I would have been a little more surprised. I loved the first book in the series so much that I've re-read it, which is rare for me, so I was hotly anticipating the next in the series. It's not safe and I'll be honest, reading about someone spitting on their penis is not as attractive as the author seems to think it is. Arlo finds himself tangled in a web of secrecy, family politics and unbridled magic when he comes face to face with the impending doom… his truth. Just like how Arlo turning into a vampire was an easy out for him not being immortal, or semi-immortal.

I understand Gildir and Frila, as it was clear from the beginning that we were never supposed to like them, however Myrinn's betrayal was just so unnecessary. I love that King of Immortal Tithe was it’s own story while still being a part of the Darkmourn universe, it was really cool to hear Arlo’s thoughts about the vampire plague and learn about how much things have changed in the large span of time since the end of Lord of Eternal Night. Like it had good parts, but like all of the sudden it like "AHH I LOVE YOU" like bro you just spent like 50 pages ranting about how much you hated everything about him and what he stood for and for like good reason! You truly feel a part of the story while reading it and I was always wanting to go back and continue reading whenever I put it down. The ending of King wasn't that bad but only because I already knew what would happen (well, not the last chapter 35 obviously).

Unless faerie saliva has magic sex-convenient properties, these two are signing up for a truly distracting amount of friction burn over time. In defiance, before the lord of death can prick his sister, he reaches out and grabs Faenirs arm… what’s this? It ends with Faenir threatening to kill people again and because of this, the two groups coming to an agreement to save both worlds. I believe this was my first book with elves so I was more nervous as to whether I would like it or not but my worries melted away as I kept reading. I didn't care when Faerin embraced his dark side and was like "fuck it, I'll show them what a mostser they made me".All it took for Arlo to actually throw himself into Faenir's arms was Myrinn telling him about why the queen hated Faenir.

Another scene which I didn't understand because it was just random: the death of a little girl, the daughter of a servant (both NEVER got mentioned in the beforehand, they just appeared randomly). Side from running his very own micro-publishing company, Oftomes, you can find Ben in the nearest Starbucks with a book in hand. The reviews and comments posted on this site reflect the opinions of individual posters and do not reflect the views of Cannonball Read.
