About this deal

These two numbers won’t be the same, with the working pressure inevitably lower, sometimes significantly so and the better number to judge your average performance from. The manufacturers say it is designed to be like this, and if so, the picture in the manual is incorrect. The Makita HW101 is a very compact model, and also the lightest electric pressure washers out there. This pressure washer can be connected to a conventional mains supply with the included standard fit adapters, as well as the ability to draw from any standing clean water source.

As well as attaching to a conventional mains supply with the included standard fit adapters, the SK155 has the advantage of being able to draw from any standing water source with its powerful suction and included filtered hose. It still has a 1300w motor that produces 100 bar of pressure which is more than enough for most day to day cleaning jobs, such as blasting decking and patios or cleaning the wheelie bin. I bought this to replace an old Kinzo pressure washer and having used the Norse for a few hours was a little disappointed as I expected the power to be amazing at 255BAR. Pumps with aluminium heads are usually a better choice than the cheaper variety and will ensure a longer working life. A huge range of accessories come as standard, including a patio cleaner, triangle brush, rotary brush, hose, filter, nozzles, adaptors and more.

The plug and clean system is probably one of the better detergent application features I’ve seen on an electric pressure washer and it is definitely quick and easy to use. Without a decent water flow rate, measured in litres per hour, all the power and pressure in the world won’t improve the cleaning performance well. For easy storage, the main unit has a built in hose reel and compartments for the spray gun, lance, nozzles, and even the detergent attachment. Another component that you want to be as durable as possible is the pump because without it working, you don’t have a pressure washer.

In fairness, Wilks now happens to be one of the most popular pressure washer brands out there and I think that video firmly supports the point though the petrol Wilks 750 seems to deliver more than the 10 BAR stated extra, but it’s still impressive.

If you want something for cleaning the car, the odd block paving purge, the conservatory and small to medium sized decking setups then this is not a bad shout. With 24 metres of hose and a 6 metre power cord, you won’t have any problems reaching the far end of your driveway or garden path. The SK155 jet washer can take water from a conventional garden hose or it can draw water from any standing source, self-priming in as little as 3 seconds. For what is just 7 Bar of pressure less, you get a whole fifty quid off and just as many attachments. I also couldn't get the gun to line up straight with the patio brush which means that gun is positioned horizontally at 90 degrees to the patio cleaner.
